Was initially going to use my '09 xServe 3,1 as a dedicated catalina machine but can't get it to see my SSD to install on.Īny input on this would be greatly appreciated! But my host already lets me choose MacOS X and all of it's versions so I'm not entirely sure I need to do this?īut when I go to boot the MacOS iso from the datastore on the new VM it just hangs at the Apple logo indefinitely.

They all say to patch the VMWare install so that MacOS becomes an option in the Guest OS selection. I have read a bunch of the articles online about hosting Catalina on VMWare ESXi.
